    Everything looks nice to me Joel...the background looks good...the head turn is great...
    the exposure also looks good.

    My only nit pick would be the pose right in the center. Did you use the central sensor?
    If so, that would do it. Using one of the other off center sensors would've helped in
    framing the bird...or if you had the time, lock onto your focus and exposure, then recompose.

    Thanks Doug, I did use the central AF sensor on the bird's eye but no time to re-compose, you usually get 1 or 2 seconds on these little fellas and they're gone! I have more room to adjust the crop but the bird looked to small in the frame when I added room on the left so I settled for this because there is more empty space to the left then the right.

    What can I say... Nice image, as usual.

    I guess the bird was rather close to you? That would explain the f/7.1 and high iso / low shutter speed.

    I'm quite surprised in the colors on the bird. I had read in books that there were a good load of color variations for this bird, but had never seen any image. It is actually quite different from those I have here. Interesting.
