I like the pose and mood. As presented I feel it looks a bit flat. Here it is with some levels adjustment.
Chas:
Like the leg kicking dancing pose, strong sense of the environment from all the snow in the air.
The processing choices for me come down to the story you are telling. I like both versions. I might consider the slight increase in contrast on the bird, but leave the rest as originally presented.
The negative space works for me.
Cheers
Randy
Love the pose, the mood and the story, Chas. Would love to see it posted 1024 pixels wide ;)
Overall a very nice image. I feel Ofer's repost brings it up a notch....
Wonderful image. Love the setting, very dramatic. Excellent pose, well composed, and either shot works for me.
Well done.
Sweet landing pose. I like both versions though my taste runs more towards Ofer's version. AF in the snow is difficult but there is no way that I can focus manually accurately even without heavy gloves so I rely on AF and enjoy about a 50% success rate. Strangely, AF works better with flying subjects than with static subjects; with the latter the system sometimes will simply not focus. Then I go to MF :)..
