    Default Sandhill Silhouette

This image of 4 Sandhill Cranes coming in for a landing was from my trip to the Bosque in January. I made it into a silhouette by radically altering the color temperature and saturation in ACR then selecting the birds I changed them to all black and sharpened the edges. This is the result.

Great silhouette, Joel! You've got a great deep orange color to play against the black...very nice! I do wish the land mass at the bottom went all the way across the bottom of the frame, though...perhaps you could add a tiny bit in the middle?

Joel, Beautiful sky colors and landing poses. Bosque really is magical. I would like to see the silhouettes a touch sharper and agree with Julie regarding the bottom area. Nicely done!

Beautiful composition, Joel. Love the incoming pose and the wonderful sky. I too agree on the bottom area... another alternative would be eliminate it all together. TFS.

Those outstretched toes are awesome! I really like your idea and processing. Good suggestions by all.

This is awesome, Joel! Great job transforming into a silhouette image, love the slight variation of poses, rich color. Agree about bottom edge. Still, nicely done.
