This is one of the other two ponies at the farm where I work. I almost decided to get rid of this shot because it was quite underexposed, but hitting it with a few rounds of Shadow/Highlight and converting it to B&W worked wonders. I added three Shadowhouse textures and a tintype texture from here to finish it.

from what you said, you turned "lemons into lemonade"-----love the technique. What is that white stripe thing coming over his forehead?

Thanks for the comments, Steve and Hazel!

Hazel, that stripe is a bunch of burrs that got caught in the pony's mane.

Christopher, You did a great job with this one. The eye is clear and draws you in. Nice detail on the hair.

I really like the ponies you have been posting with your famous effect of textures! They all convey so much feeling.

He is too cute, Christopher! I have to ask...did you try to lighten the eye on the left at all? I'd love to see even more detail there if you could squeeze any out. Otherwise...super conversion to b&w! You know its good when you don't find yourself missing the color and I don't miss it at all here.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Jules, I'll try lightening that eye a bit.

I thought that might be some grass or something caught on him. Gives a nice texture to the photo anyway.
