    Hi,

Excellent image, with good positioning of the bird, head angle, and certainly sharp for a hand-held 500mm. at 1/400sec., especially if it was windy. I like the overall rather monotone effect but with a few color highlights to draw the eye. I would prefer the bird to be a little higher up in the frame. The dark blobs to her right are a bit distracting, but I'm not sure how to blur them even more without looking artificial.

Hi Roy, good looking girl, and you have captured a good pose. You have brought out the feather detail nicely, and overall, nice and sharp. I feel its a bit tight behind the tail, so moving the duck a little more into the frame will work. The BG colour compliments the duck nicely.

Nice pose, very sharp and lots of detail. I might look at either reducing the blue a bit and/or warming it up a touch. The whites seems a bit too blue on my laptop. Very well done.

    Hi Roy,
I really like the perch this lady is standing on. Good IQ and feather detail. I agree that a different crop would make this image sing. This is purely a personal opinion but I would go tighter by cropping right and top and moving the bird up in frame. You could reduce the intensity of the black blobs by doing a quick mask and reducing the blacks in the blacks in selective color or do a burn,

Thanks everyone. I can reduce the black blobs but when I saw them I didn't think they were that distracting, but what do I know. I continually struggle with crops so thanks for the suggestions.

Love the pose, light, bg and perch. Agree with moving the bird further into the frame.
    Nicely done Roy.
