I was going through some files from last year, and as our winter is coming up soon, I thought I would share an image from last winter. These guys are extremely fast, and its fun to capture these guys in all sorts of flying poses. As there are so many ripples, I have based my rotation on the thick ripple in the ULC. Taken at a local pond in Pretoria last year July.

For what looks like a later in the day shot you sure got great detail, and the wings primaries ends are perfect. I'd be real happy with that one.

    Hey Stuart,
What nice looking browns you got on this guy. The pose is great, as is the detail and slight sheen in the wing. Leveling looks good to me and only gave it a second look based on your comment.

Very nice action shot - interesting looking duck as well. I like the wing down pose. The slight turn of the bird towards you works well.

Thanks Stan. This was actually captured early morning. Im at work, so I dont have the actual time from the exif, but I normally leave this location around 8.30am, so this was captured well before that.

Thanks to everyone else for the kind words and feedback.

    Hi Stuart,
You nailed this one in all respects! Wing pose is perfect! Tack sharp and I like the water ripples with the hint of blue green. Well done!
