Love the low angle, light, sudsy water, droplets on its back, HA, colors but I prefer the last one b/c it told more of a story where this one is more of a portrait. Donning your waders and getting at eye level made all the difference here, Grace.
I might just have to pull out another LTD tomorrow although the colors of my Florida female could never equal yours! Looking forward to the day that I see and photograph one as colorful as this one.
Have to agree with Marina on the one in rough seas, but I'll keep looking at great shots like that. Did you not get any with the sprig or are they showing yet? The pintails down south have been in their Sunday best for a couple months and most are already paired up, don't have a clue what it's like in more northern latitudes but most waterfowl pair before migrating to nesting grounds,
Grace, I'd have to call this one perfect if I didn't like the other one a little better. There's a bit of a dark line intersecting the top of the head that was clear on the other, and I'm indifferent about the rotation (might even prefer the surfing look of the other). Both incredibly lovely images, however. You couldn't have nailed it better in a studio.
Hi Grace,
I really like this one! The ultra low level has bumped this image up. I prefer the level seas of this one. IQ is spot on.I like the sudsy water as well,
Gail
Love the low angle, the bird placement and the space you've given him. That eye is gorgeous, and I love the droplets on his back. Exposure and sharpness are perfect.
This has got to be one of the cutest duck species - would love to see one some day.
Hi Grace, well placed in the frame, and good DOF on the LT Duck. I do like the overall exposure, detail and sharpness, and we cant miss those droplets. Ther is absolutely nothing wrong with this image, but Im going with your previous one of him 'surfing' the wave. You can please some of the people some of the time, but you cant please all of the people all of the time.
Another beautiful one Grace. Theres nothing better than putting on those waders and getting up close and personal as well as that super low angle that creates the magic. I love the bubbly waters and the drops on the ducks back.
