In one of my extremely rare adventures into landscape, I took this image of the ice sheet at Austfona, Svalbard, 10th September 2009

Nice to see you in Landscape Ken.

I like this image a lot. I like that it is framed top and bottom with the sky and water respectively. I would also crop so the width of the water is the same as the sky for a different look. Some might feel that is too balanced and stagnant but I feel the it will enhance the look of the ice sheet by lessening the amount of FG texture in the water.

Good composition with the strong diagonals on the ice sheet. I like how it dips down int he middle and then back up. I feel you chosen composition was well seen. Nicely done.

Hi Ken, this is a beautiful capture. I love the ice sheet and the details in it too. Agree with Robert on the water crop...it will give the image more symmetrical balance. Nice capture!

Thanks for your comments, they are much appreciated.

For some unkown reason I rarely take landscapes but then I do not often travel to areas where the scenery inspires, but quite why I have never taken many in southern Namibia is down to my speed of travel to the game areas. Next time
