The bird and his magnificent colors really pop off that green bg and the mood created by the rain is wonderful. Glad to see he's managing.
Great documentation of this, Doug! I wonder if this was caused by injury, disease or heredity? Hope someone has a clue here.

Very interesting image. The colors are great and I like your choice of crop to go with the horizontal perch. I also like the raindrops on his back. It must be very hard to get the right exposure on these guys so kudos to you for a great exposure,
