    This is a set up. Nikon D700, 300mm f2.8, 1.4tc, tripod. 1/1000, f8, iso400. Adj WB, EXP in acr. Levels on the shadow on the belly, NR on BG, USM in CS3.

    It's a gorgeous bird and fine capture, Jack. I'd love to see his feet, but you don't always get everything. I'd also prefer about 1/6 off the right, and a little added left, but that's picking nits. Very nice.

    Jack, another very nice photo.
    I would be interested in the technique you use for these if you don't mind.
    One would never really know they were a set up unless you told us.

    Hi Jack, I like the light, which in turn has brought out good sharp detail where it counts. I like the inquisitive pose, and agree, moving the bird slightly more into the frame will work better. Great BG, and I would maybe take a bit off the top.

    I like the pose, perch, sharpness and sweet BG. I would like to see a repost with the bird more into the frame. Well done Jack!

    Sharp as a tack and great lighting. It's a little low in the frame for me - I'd take a bit off the top, and add back just a bit on the left side if there's room.

    Detail in the face area is awesome.
