This image was created in the morning at 7:22am in Everglades National Park, Eco Pond, Florida. This Black-necked Stilt made the perfect model against the green reflections in the water.

This image was created with the Canon 800mm f/5.6L IS lens and the TC 1.4x II at 1120mm, and the EOS-1DMIV. ISO 640. Evaluative metering: 1/400 sec. at f/9.0 set manually.

    All comments are welcome.

    Thanks for looking.

Great shot, love the reflection/BG, great angle.
Personally, I would love to see more room on the bottom. Also, clone out that one bubble?

I likethis, very nice. I like the BG colors and blur, sets a very peaceful/tranquil mood.
Couple of nits - I would remove the bubble. In the very upper left there is a light band I'd blend in more, its the only horizontal element.
In the lower left some of the waves create well defined edges that I'd try to get rid of. These are the thgins that pull my eye away from the subject.

I don't know that I would change anything. It's a great shot with that much lens. Good job.

You will think I am nuts but I thought of Audrey Hepburn as soon as i saw this. Why? She wore a lot of black and white, had a gorgeous posture and was elegant and dainty. A real lady just like this bird. This bird has a beautiful HA as well. I ,too, vote for cloning out the bubble and smoothing out the horizontal line in the LUC.
I just got Color Effex Pro and the detail extractor is amazing for pulling out detail in the whites. It is really amazing when used sparingly.Have you tried it?

Killer light and pose. With that perfect red iris and sweet light. Well done. Was there a vertical there???

Gail, I did use Detail Extractor on the whites and blacks, Tonal Contrast only on the blacks (if you use it on the whites, it will "blow out" the whites more than desired, so you have to be careful on whites with Tonal Contrast).

No vertical unfortunately. Would have been nice to show more of the reflection, but since the Stilt was never standing still, I had trouble putting/keeping the central sensor (only one available at 1120mm) on the legs in order to get a sharp image.

Hi Clemens, good low angle, and I like the pose. Is this a Juvie? Excellent exposure, and just love their eyes. Killer BG too.

Awesome colours, water texture, pose, techs. Good point by Doug about the horizontal streak in ULC (maybe also the thin pale one between the bill and neck). I vote to keep the bubble, I like it there.
