Amazing action catch, as good as it gets. Would have liked a bit more light on the smaller birds eye if possible. Super catch.

Terrific action, you must be stoked having witnessed this!! Either your voles are huge or WTKs are smaller than I thought :-) I agree about the top bird's eye, and find the whites a bit yellowish-green? How much of a crop?

I was so freakin excited Daniel. I waited on this pair for 4 years to get this shot. I just had my monitor caliberated, but maybe I need to re-do it again if they are looking green-yellow to you. This image is a 40% crop (took out 60%)

It could be my monitor too, we'll see if others chime in. Glad everything came together for you after all that time!

They do have a green caste, but it is a fantastic photo, an easy fix.
They can probably reward the Image of the week, right now.

Well done Conrad, this is great action. I like the vole and the pose of the lower bird, wish you had better eye contact from the other one. I agree with Dan about the color cast, you can use the eye dropper tool in PS to correct the cast and also there is a little bit of noise in the BG you can clean.

Awesome shot, the kites are indeed very small, skittish and hard to photograph you did well!

Awesome action shot Conrad. Where was this one taken? I'm up the road in San Mateo.
