From a different day and location than the female that I recently posted. I just love these sea ducks, even the sound they make is cute.

He looks like a gorgeous rubber ducky bobbing up and down in a bathtub full of blue water. I think I prefer this one to the last due largely bc of that amazing tail. Love the colors against the dark blue water. Exposure is spot on.

Thank you Marina. These guys are just so darn cute and endlessly fun to photograph. I ended up going in the sound with my waders on and got some cool eye level stuff. Will share that shortly, haven't processed much of it yet.

Wonderful shot. Love the lifted up tail, again great dark blue water, exposed well, and well composed.
    Well done.

Love the pose with the raised rump and curled tail feathers. Neat water texture and colour. I'd prefer the duck lower in the frame, mostly due to personal preference.

I agree about moving the duck lower, not so centered.
    Another cool surfing shot.

A lovely image as always, Grace, and what a pretty bird! The water looks pretty rough. I agree the exposure looks spot-on, but the whites look a little hot to me. Any chance of teasing out a little more detail there?

I love the saucy look the tail gives him. I can't wait to see you low angle shots. These guys are notoriously difficult to expose correctly and you did it perfectly.
