Hi Harold Love your idea and great exposure Lots of feel !!!

With the selected shutter speed the only way to have some sharpness in the bird is panning smoothly and lucking out to catch on the upstroke Not sure why you selected the f 25 Much rather have a bit more shutter speed !!

A bit of separation would have been great and also getting the bird before he was past your position !!! Most of this images are made when you get several tries No unusual to have several birds fly the same pattern !!! Love it Harold !!!

Yeah, why f/25 Harold? :) I think you could salvage a nice image here just by cropping the blown out parts. I really like the feel of the you've created. Did you use a tri-pod?? Seems like you might have a better chance to keep the bird in sharp focus as Alred mentioned..Nice capture!!

i was using f/25 trying to tame the sun. i wasnt prepared for shooting BIFs and this just happened. i was using a tripod and had i seen the bird coming, maybe i could have panned the camera and kept the bird sharper. hah!!! i answered my own question!!

nonda and bruce, what are you guys, parrots?:p i had another term for ya, but i refrain for fear of getting banned:D

Try removing the double pixels you always get when a photo is out of focus. I didn't have allot of data to work with, you can do much better with the whole image, but I find in a photo like this that you can easly remove the double image of the Egret using the clone tool with a firm edge on it. This doesn't work well when the whole Egret is up tight, but when its a silhouette type photo all you need is a good sharp edge around the Egret to pull it off. Nice capture. Rod
