I had to do rather an awkward crop for this one as the bottom was largely OOF flowers and the head of mum was partially clipped, this is around 50%

Ken - tender moment, well captured. The tongue out really adds to this image. I might come in a bit from the rhs to remove the bit of green in the URC. I do find the black spot immediately above the cub's head drawing my eye a bit but I'm not sure you can do anything about it.

    Rachel,

I am a little confused as to what black spot you are referring to could you let me know what it is and where?
I can see only some shadow and the above that an OOF eye from another cub.

I see what you mean about the crop.

Ken - it is the oof eye of the other cub. I thought it was an eye but wasn't sure.

    Ken,

You cropped this interesting closeup well. I feel eliminating the distractions was a good choice. I agree in a bit more crop right to remove leave in URC.

I like Rachel's suggestion on the tighter crop, the expressions on the two, and your choice of comp. Glad we cleared up that eye, I wasn't sure either!

I'd agree that you could go in even tighter, but the cub is so "cubby" (sorry my vocabulary is all used up today) - great cub shot. Once I get used to it I find the OOF eye adds to the picture/story rather that detracts, especially with the arch over it.

Thanks everybody for your kind comments, I agree that I should have taken more of the RHS.
As to the other cubs OOF eye I just thought it added extra interest, it is more visible in the RAW.

nice expression and good idea to crop close
Harshad's crop is nice but I would leave more space on the LHS...
