    The background was painted by nature.
    I took this picture along Black Creek Nature Drive.
    I removed some branches from the right bottom corner to improve the composition.

    Wow, nice bg, HA and exposure. I have had zero luck getting anywhere close to a KF. Great job!

    Very nice shot!!! I just like the perch and what a wonderful background. Excellent pose, whites look good, and great comp. Bird looks like it could use another round of sharpening. Still a great image.

    Lovely image Karl. Fabulous perch, great composition, and a handsome bird. I got a shot of a female at Gilbert Friday... from fifty yards! Great job getting this one.

    Hi Karl, just love the way you describe the BG in your introduction. Having said that, the mixture of colours really work well together, and of course, you captured a good pose from the kingfisher. Well exposed and sharp too.

    Love the painterly BG here and the pose is so calming. I have never been able to approach one without them getting up. Nice one.
