Nicely done, Jim. Gorgeous bird, perfect comp, exposure, HA and bg.
I wonder if eliminating the distinct highlight in the eye would improve it.

Great looking woodpecker. I like the pose showing the feet, the feather details and colours, Jim.

    Hi Jim

nice bird and shot, a little blur around feet, eye and head nice and sharp at critical focus, realise these are very hard as they do not stay still, and area at back of head shows cloned edge?

Hi Jim, good detail throughout the woodpecker, sharp, and I like the hint of colour on the top of his head. Comp works well, and I like the pose of the woodpecker against the clean BG.

Very nice classic shot of a WP. The BG is exquisite and I love the different colors the bird has.
