Great sense of the environment/action here. Good pose, angle in frame.
The wave is such a strong visual element, that it does tend to overpower the bird a bit. I could see a version with the luminosity of the background toned down a little bit to help the bird stand out a bit more.
You could also do some modest cropping to increase the relative size of the bird in frame to help him standout.

Wow that's a gem, I wonder if the whites on the vent area are just a tad hot? Only a tad I would suggest. Regard compostion I would consider cropping a little off the RHS and adding a little to the top.
