Default Oi, off my perch - NOW

    Canon 7D Canon 500mm f4 L IS ISO 640 1/400 sec f5.6

Shot taken in the back garden from a hide sunflower seeds and peanuts used as bait. Photoshop: Crop to the RHS, Slight desat in the yellows, mainly for the moss on the perch, and NR to the background - none to the subject.

    All C & C welcome.
This is a great tit, although quite small 5.5" or 14cm they can be pretty stroppy, in this instance he was threatening one of the garden bullies i.e,. the greenfinch who is a tad larger.

Hi Jon, great aggressive behaviour captured here, and particularly how the bird is 'crouched'. The tit is well exposed and sharp, and we have a great view of him holding on to the perch. Comp wise, Im fine as presented, but Im sure you could play around with a couple of other versions, and still end up with a good result. Taking away at least half from the bottom comes to mind.

    Interesting behavioural image.
far end of the tail is out of focus -- perhaps motion blur? The depth of field covers both wings. Maybe a bit of sharpening to improve this?

Also, if this were my setup, I would have chosen a perch of a slightly small diameter for this species.
No matter -- an excellent image.

I like the agressive pose, open beak, mossy perch and BG. I would have went with a smaller diameter perch as well. Well done Jonathan!
