Hmm, 32 views so far and no comment. So I'll start. Not too, but almost , border line gory for me. The red part being out of focus helps and the lion's intense stare pulls me into the lion. I like your framing of the zebra, partial leg and hoof, enough so we know it is a zebra. Nice light but almost over saturated/contrast colors? Still, overall, works for me.

Great expression and eye contact, hint of prey in the back and excellent details. All in all nice image Ken.

    Tom,

Thanks for commenting, I guess this is a little too "real".
Too explain the colours it was taken at sunset.

    Sid,

Sorry we posted at nearly the same time

Ahh, sunset, that would be nice and warm, saturated, as you show it. Again, I like the composition, zebra framing left side and the very intense lion with bloody snout.

I agree with the above comments. Satisfied expression and the view of the kill shows why.

Nice study of this "true Africa" scene. I like the light and the details on the lioness.
Even though it was taken in sunset light, I would still tone down the blue and magenta in the "gore" as it just seems overcooked IMHO , no need to adjust saturation on the main subject.

    Morkel,

The cast you see is not overly apparent to me, the blue is "pesky" flies
