    Default Tiger family at TATR

Got to witness this amazing scene in my first visit to TATR (Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve). Tigress with her four cubs
Almost full frame, slightly cropped on the left side to remove some branches
    Camera: Canon 50D
    Lens: Canon 300 2.8 L II IS + Canon 2x III TC
    Aperture: f/ 5.6
    Shutters: 1/125
    Speed: ISO 800
Sorry about the tight and awkward frame, I did try again by replacing the 2x with a 1.4x but the tigress had gone into the bush along with a cub by then. This was my first time with the new prime, hope Canon comes out with the 200-400 asap :P
    C&C welcome!

Hi Aditya, I assume you were with Kiran when you took this, or perhaps in another vehicle?

Agree with you that the composition is not ideal & in parts, too tight, but to see so many Tigers together must have been special. Although you do not have the Red cast running through, I would suggest moving the RHS in Levels in, just see what happens, but moving it in slightly does open the image up a fraction. Also moving position would have given you a better composition. If you were with Kiran, interesting to see the variations in the techs.

Look forward to seeing more soon.

Hi Steve, yes I was in the same vehicle as Kiran. Tried a bit of variations with the RHS slider in levels, only succeeded in blowing out the whites on their coats :P
We were in a stationary vehicle, moving around in it was a bit difficult :( Have another version of this similar scene taken with a 100-400 on a 5DMK2, will post that once I'm done editing.
For some reason I was very cautious with increasing ISO on both cams so ended up with a lot of blurred photos.

Hi Aditya, perhaps on something like this it might not be a problem as it seems there is no real detail in there, try in Levels 6, 0.95, 245, these are not specific but might help in where I was going, a bit more contrasty? I also just added a hint more USM to the Tigers too.

Cannot really comment on the 50D as I have never used it and no idea on IQ and how far you can push the ISO. Always best to have a higher SS, but sometimes it's a fine balance. The more you work with you camera in various situations the better you will become in knowing the limitations.
