    HI

One of the top three on my wanted list last year were Stonechats. That's why I made a trip to Austria. Unfortunately, we were a little late, so they had already fledged chicks, but I still managed to get a few great shot :))

We were shooting this little buddy on a big bunch of dead grape plants, when suddenly a Red-backed Shrike came to the scene. The Stonechat totally freaked out and gave me the opportunity to shoot this nice calling pose.

I really like your image. the eye needs a little more light for me but is not a big problem.

    Hi Jan,
lovely as presented..........would have preferred tight vert crop/presentation....but these are my biases.......so very well done!

Beautiful pose, BG and colours on this gorgeous bird Jan. Two suggestions, I would like to see a bit more of the perch, and I think this could use a tiny bit more contrast in the midtones to make it pop even more (I just calibrated my monitor and it looks like it could use a bit more tweaking in curves) but that could also be personal...lovely shot in any case!
