Grace, a fine shot. whites look good and nice pop due to the darker BG. perfect use of high SS to freeze the water. loved those waves.

Killer action Grace. Spot on exp and the whites look so amazing against that dark blue water. The only thing that doesn't quite work for me is your crop. I think I would consider taking some off the right and the bottom to give a little more attention to your subject and the amazing action.

Thank you Kaustubh and Marina. Marina, I was hoping with this crop to give the viewer the sweeping feeling of the gull going into the water for his meal (See the water pattern on the right as viewed and the droplets that he left behind), so I hate to loose that, but certainly see your point regarding the bottom. Thanks for your input, always appreciate it.

Wow this is great! The gull really pops from the water, whites are terrific. Sharp as a tack.

Very nice action capture, Grace. Love the pose, light, and ripple texture to water. Excellent techs.

Nice SS, you really froze the action here.
I would have moved it to the right, but I assume this is the shot you got.
Terrific exposure of the white bird on the darker water, difficult to get right and it looks perfect.

Excellent action and nice pose. I love the water collar around the neck. I find the sweeping action you were going for would work better with about half the bottom cropped away...it would give you a less standard format, but it would be effective nonetheless. Very subjective as you know though!!

    Hi Grace,
Very nice dramatic picture. I like the white against the dark blue. I really like the composition and the swell of the water on the right. It allows the viewer to see and feel the swell of the ocean. I like the way the water trails off to the right as well.
    What is the morsel?

Great action shot, Grace. Love the dark blue vaves and the splashing water around the head.

You are right Grace. It's tough to judge from my phone but went back and looked more closely. Agree with u on some off of bottom only. That will keep the flow.

Hi Grace, well timed to capture the feeding action, and just love the flying droplets. You have nailed the whites so well, this is really sharp, and if anything, I would just take a bit off the bottom.

Nice exposure control, and I like the captured action. I think I'd go for a tighter crop if the detail holds up, because the frame feels out of balance as presented (basically what Marina suggested).
