Gail:
Very nice colors, very complimentary with oranges and blues, soft BG.
In a perfect world, wish the bottom leaf wasn't cut, but very minor.
I do think parts of the bird are slightly oversharpened, as I am seeing some jaggies induced along some of the edges, esp noticeable on the white feathers in the tail.
I am torn about the thin stem in front of his face. Just as a trial, I might try a version with it neatly clipped off.
Cheers

Nice, clean super sharp picture, Gail. Love the perch, slight head turn and the nice and smooth background.
(I like to say the positive, let other say the negative if there is any, but I don't thinks so.)

very nice pose and good sharpness, it doesn't appear oversharpened to me but I do see a slight magenta cast in the whites ;)
neat shot

So nice, it looks like a set-up.
it does appear a bit oversharpened to me.
Nice color contrasts.

Excellent pose, perch and BG! Like everything about this one!
Agree it's a tad over-sharpened and I'm also seeing a magenta cast.
I tried adding some green and the image really sings!
Beautiful shot. Love the pose amd perch. Great background and superb detail. Does seem a tad oversharpened.
Well done.
You all spoke and I listened. Thanks so much about spotting the magenta cast. I knew there was something a bit off about the color but couldn't figure it out. I backed off on the sharpening and excluded the bit of fluffy belly feathers from the sharpening. I also cloned out the leaf as it bugged me as well!
You guys and gals are great!
Karl- Don't be afraid to criticize and find the negative. That is how I learn.we have no photography club where I live and I know of no one with an interest in avian photography that lives locally so this is my only learning resource.

That has done it!
Really put the polish on a fine image.

Repost looks great but maybe a slight mid-tones adjustement and some boost in colours. WDYT?
Hi Gail, lovely overall setting, with a good comp and pose. I really like the softer blues on the Jay, and your repost has addressed the cast perfectly. The removal of the lower leaf hasnt harmed the image eitherand just love that BG.
beautiful photo Gail - I love the repost!
