Thought this was an interesting looking pose. Rotation, added some canvas to bottom, crop to vertical, some cloning and blur on BG.

Thanks Peter, I was kind of undecided about this, and it could be considered a bad frame. Liked it enough to want to see what others thought. Thanks for feedback on the blur, wasn't sure it worked in this case either.

Real nice shot. I really like the wing position. Showing excellent detail. I personally like the comp and unusual pose.
    Well done.

I am on the middle on this one too. The feet and bill stand out, but the feet are not as powerful as the bill. Perhaps you could clone out the background or try an "artistic" filter to see what happens.

Hi Brendan, good sharp detail throughout the Pelican, but Im afraid with the near wing covering the eye, it loses a bit of impact. The BG looks distant enough to maybe not have blurred it as much. What do the frames either side of this frame look like?

    Thanks, Robert, Alan, and Stuart.

Alan I did try a version without the BG, but ended up liking the cliffs in BG.
Stuart, the other frames weren't as in focus, but always fun to work on something a little different.
