Hi Karl,
There is a cloning mark visible on the left of bird at the junction between the blue sky and sand and a dust spot in LUC. I like the pose. Looks like this was taken in midday sun so I would tone down the brightness a bit (on legs especially),
Gail
Thanks Gail and Peter.
The RAW file did not show any hot in Lightroom, but I still used selective Linear Burn on the white (less then 10 %) and then about 50 % on the legs.
The cloning mark is quite visible. I used quick mask to cover up an area on the left that I did not like. I never noticed the line. (It is time to se the eye doctor and get new glasses.)
I checked the time. It was taken at 9:35 AM.
This guy actually has very light coloured legs.
Mistery has been solved.
I switched the little triangle that shows the overexposed parts in red for some reason earlier and now I even remember why. Then I forgot to switch it back.
The area you mentioned Peter has been blown, so are the legs. It takes -0.40 exposure correction plus 10 points recovery to get rid of the reds.
Or of course I could have used the adjustment brush at around -0.65 if I had not turned that switch down.
My apology you guys and Gail are absolutely right.
Hi Karl, great show of the feather detail, and love the exposure of the blacks on the head, and the browns on the wings. I do like your low angle of capture, and love the preening pose.
