Hi Amol and welcome to the 'big board!' You've got a nice pose here, with the open beak and good eye contact. Detail in the blacks is excellent. I wish I could see the feet, and I find the OOF grass a little bright. Remember that you can post at 1024 pixels wide, 800 tall, and 250 KB in size; it makes critiquing a little easier. Look forward to more of your image posts.

Hi Amol, a big welcome to the big 'boys and girls' and judging by this image, you will be just fine. Coots are difficult characters to get right, but you have nailed the exposure on the plumage nicely. I feel your sharpness is dead right, and well timed to get the open beak and a good HA. I agree with Doug to tone down the grass, and look forward to more at 1024 wide.

Amol, warm welcome here. As Doug said, larger size will be better. Nice pose, comp. and exposure. sharpness looks fine to me. wising the FG blur was more smooth...but hard with that light angle. And we do have a lot of mix of brown and green here this winter.

Thanks Doug, Stuart and KD. Nice to know the sharpness is not a problem.

I agree on the legs not visible but I had no view of the legs the whole time. So had to take what I got.

The Image size is something my hosting site has control on. (I may have to look for another host).

I will post with the suggested changes early tomorrow.

Thank you guys for the warm welcome. I have been learning a lot from this forum , I love this forum.
