An image I took at Savute (Marabou Pan) a couple of years ago. Slight more abstract than I normally post, though still taken from the belly position.

Probably should have stopped down a little....but not to worry :)

Good B&W treatment here Russell, nice contrast range with grey mud, water flush, skin texture and sky BG.
Can't help but wonder whether having the eye visible and some more lower room would further improve this image?

Interesting, artistic composition, Russell. Really like the B&W treatment and combinations of different textures. Agree with Marc on wanting to compare alternate version that includes eyes, but still nicely done.

Russell, I like this very much and think the pp has worked well. The way the trunk has curved around both tusks, instead of between them and the water pouring down gives extra interest. I'd be very happy with this.

Thanks guys...I thought some would hope for an eye. I had the initial same thoughts

Having a fixed lens is a pain, as this is full frame.

I know what you mean Russell, but most times it's a blessing.

Russell - I like the b&w treatment here with nice detail and the water really adds to the image IMHO.

Hi Russell, sorry a bit late to the party on this one. Like the thinking on this one and you seemed to have taken to B/W with a good eye.

I just wonder if you applied a little 'lightening' in Curves on parts of the truck to pullout that lovely detail & texture and go for a white BKG it would give the image even more impact & presence? Love the cascading water.
