    VPN,
This looks OK to me but I am no expert on B&W, I think that the large area of "white" at the top is not adding much and I would crop as much as possible. A little more space on the right would also be useful.

Interesting composition with the look over here VP, but for mine with the harsh light there's not enough tonal variation to make this B&W work.

Hi VPN, knowing the issues you are having, I think it's not a bad attempt. Agree with Marc that it does need more tonal variation to make it work, but some slight tweaks does get it looking right, well, going in the right direction. I like the rather indignant look over the back, but feel if you had moved to the right a bit more the 'rear' would not have been so prominent, still retaining the others in the BKG.

Will try and have some thinks on some simple tweaks you can do for the future.

I like your thinking here VPN. I support Ken's comments on the crop, and while I do hear Marc's objection about the tonal range for me there is a nice contrast between the darker buffaloes and the more gray surroundings and the white sky. In this repost I focused on that - so I cropped closer, then burned the shadows on the buffs (6%) and dodged midtones and highlights on the buffs too (around 6% each). What do you think?

VPN - I agree that it would have been better to move further right if possible but I like the b&w treatment of this. Morkel's repost and crop take it to another level.

Like the Morkel's repost. I guess washed out sky in original image is kind of creating an empty feeling I guess. Nice job VPN.
