We were looking for this bird, but did not have to look too long.
A pair crossed the road right in front of us.
    Timing is everything.
    Thanks for looking.

Beautiful image, Karl. Lovely look back pose, nice comp, perfect DOF and a very natural setting. I enjoyed it a lot.

Nice detail and color, Karl. The expression is both fierce and proud. I will be looking for this bird myself, next month.

Very nice find Karl. I like the look back pose. Good IQ. I find the lower branch on the right that leads out of the frame a bit distracting and would clone it back to the little leaf if it was mine.

    "Looking for Scrub Jays"?
Funny question if you live in the Northwest.
They are pests here, considered like Starlings!
Nice photo, I like all birds although they are really noisy and obnoxious in the backyard.

    Thanks, Dan.
I don't know where you live, but as far as I remember, the Florida Scrub Jay is an endangered species with limited range.
You might have got the Western Scrub Jay in your area which is very similar. Their noise don't bother me as I see them once a year if so.
    They have beutiful plumage IMO.

Love the composition it looks a very natural type of setting. I would suggest however that the brightness is a little too high.

Beautiful job, Karl. Really like the colors, the way the bird is framed, and the comp. just photographed this species too down here in FL, felt so lucky to find a few.
