Toucans (and sloths) love these trees, and so do I. Catch the insect damage!

My favorite of your Costa Rica photos Richard! A really unique view that works well in high key. Very reminiscent of Greg Basco's BBC-honored photo from this year.

Doug, I was thinking the same thing. Richard, I love what you did with the toucan in the Cecropia here -- congrats!

    Hi Richard,
As soon as I clicked on the picture i thought of Greg's shot as well. This is so cool. I really like everything about it. I love the holes in the leaves and the symmetry of the leaves. One of your best shots,
    Gail

Very creative composition and potential award winner! Since you did remove already a leaf, I would also remove the grey spots in the upper right corner.

I like everything about this image - even the square comp - one of my favorite images seen so far on BPN.

Wonderful perspective! I too thought of Greg's image immediately, but this is quite different and works well in colour because of the Tucan's plumage.

Not the typical toucan image! and a very bold composition! Agree with you that this is a very good tree to find toucans, sloths and many other animals. I guess this is the best crop for this compostion.
