Hi Phil, nice to see you back posting again.

Very envious of you getting these guys, not always that easy and so close. Looks like he/she was dinning on some crab. I just wonder if there is a tad too much blue coming through based on the visible rocks and more importantly the water, I thought it might have been more nondescript and grey, WDYT?

Without being specific, was it near the Ferry terminal?

Nice detail, sharpness and comp. Something does look a little off on the color, if these are the same color as otters in North America.

Hi Steve yes near the Ferry terminal just by the cottages on the camp site, I have had good luck with them there over the last 4 years, last year I had 3 otter at high tide for 6 days running.

The blue will be me upping the sat in bibble it should be a bit more grey like you say.

Hi Rachel I don't know if they are the same colour I do think he is picking a bit of a colour cast from the sea weed on it's wet fur.

You lucky person, mine were on Unst, but nowhere like this.

If it's simple to do then I would suggest amending and reposing, to do your image justice.

    cheers

I know how hard these can be to properly photograph, Phillip! Nice overcast diffused light (how else in the UK? ). I agree with Steve's colour assessment and would have liked to see a tad more head-turn towards the focal plane...
