Default Banking Spoonie in low light

From my outing with Cap't. James last month. Light was fading fast, thus the high ISO. Essentially full frame (added bit of canvas below, subtracted like amount above.) C&C appreciated.

excellent exposure wing position and IQ the D7000 seems like a great performer.

Great image Bill, with beautiful wing position and HA. I love the structure in the wings. You might want to desaturate the reds in the tail as they are typically over-saturated with spoonies.

    Bill:

The lighting has given you a nice sense of transillumination, resulting in the structure detail that Clemens mentioned. Great wing spread pose.

Did you need to do noise reduction in post? I often see some noise issues mentioned with high ISOs on the D7000.

Always great fun out with Capt. James.

    Cheers

Very beautiful . The wings have a great translucence to them. The IQ is great and good look at the head and eyes. Well done. Your last few posts have shown that you have really improved and grown as a photographer,

Thanks Arash, Clemens and Randy, and Gail. The reds in the tail do look oversaturated, although I didn't boost the saturation. I should have thought to desat that area.

Yes, Randy, I did resort to some Topaz Denoise, which seems to work well if you carefully balance the 'noise reduction' slider with the 'preserve detail' and 'reduce blur' sliders.

Isn't that a beauty! Great wing position and color and I like the backlit wings. I'll be joining The Captain myself this coming week and I can't wait. Hope to have an awesome day on the Hooptie Deux with friends!!

Excellent shot! Great flight pose and the detail is just superb. Im impressed with the way the D7000 handles at high ISO's. I have tried with my D300s and have never been satisfied.
    Very well done.
