Default Snowy Amish Laundry Day--Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA

I enjoy going to Feeny's house to buy homemade bread. She has 6 children, a husband, and no clothes dryer. I hope she will enjoy getting a print of this image. :-)

25mm. Post processing in Elements 10 and Photoshop 7, basic adjustments. Texture from Shadowhouse Creations, Topaz Adjust >Small Details, Color Effex Pro >Lighten Center & Color Contrast, Correct Camera Distortion. I used a technique I just learned: Image>Transform>Skew to finalize the correct camera distortion.

    Constructive Critique always welcome.

Anita, this reminds me of a Norman Rockwell painting. Nice work. I know Feeny will love it.

Anita, I agree with Cheryl, it reminds me a little of a Norman Rockwell painting. I might tone down the area near the swings if it were mine. Great eye for this, most folks including me would pass this up!

A great shot. Makes me "homesick" for that area. Lived in York, Pa for ten years. Went the Lancaster many times. Well done!

This is outstanding. You did an excellent job diluting all the colors except the laundry, creating an emotional impact. The falling snow is a plus.

p.s. I love to hang laundry out in the summer, but am sure glad to have a dryer for the winter!

Anita, this is outstanding! This one reminded me of Annie Leibovitz's Pilgrimage which has numerous such images each with a story to tell... different from her carefully lit and staged assignment photo shoots. I like the story and the how you have captured both the snow outside and the cloths being dried inside. The washed colors and effect gives a sense of timelessness of this image. Excellent processing!

Ooops. I just realized that I violated the guidelines as this image is not primarily of nature. My apologies.

Hi Anita, Cheryl summed it up perfectly...a Norman Rockwell painting for sure. Lovely processing!

Anita, last I knew non-nature images were allowed here in the OOTB forum.

This is lovely! I love the antique look, and the falling snow adds a nice touch. The only thing that bothers me is the modern-looking chair on the porch. Very well done!

Anita, Christopher is correct. OOTB allows images with hand of man elements and here is the guideline http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...g-Instructions

Yes, the chair lets us know this is not 100 years ago.
