Excellent shot Gail! Love the action here. Hope the Whites have not migrated by the time we get down there in April. Great job!

Perfectly composed, exposed and captured. The bird is angled just perfectly (kudos to the fish thrower :)
I'd have to try, but it seems like you might be able to tease out more details from some of the whites.
Looks like you had a very productive trip. Looking forward to more.

Absolutely love it Gail! Something I would hope for if I see the pelicans this summer in our area.

Like it a lot. Apologies to pelicans but they always look clownish to me. This action shot captures this perfectly. Great composition.

Way to go Gail! The open mouth, the visible leg & foot, the water droplets under the pelican, great action & great techs. Excellent shot. TFS.

Really nice techs Gail! Love the head position, but neutral on the wing position. Looks like you all had a good time in FL!

    Gail:

Good timing! Looks like Placida to me, and for that venue, you did well to get that low. Must have been sitting or lying on the dock.

    Nice techs, sharp, well exposed.

    Cheers

Thanks all for your comments. Arash and Doug -I agree re: wing position but these guys sit in the water and surge forward rather than fly up to get the fish. It is the open bill that really made me like this picture.
Randy, I was sitting on the dock for this one,

Hi Gail, very well timed, and just love that open beak. Sharp where it counts, especially around the head and bill. Well captured.
