Hello Robert and welcome to BPN. I never knew there was a Beverly Hills, FL, and I have been living in FL for years. I just looked it up and see you live near Apopka. I wonder whether you have ever photographed at the Avian Reconditioning Center in Apopka? It's a very nice place to photograph on the weekends when they fly their raptors and for stills as well. Maybe you could tell us a little bit about yourself and what you like to photograph. I look forward to seeing some of your photos.
My name is Robert Strickland. I live in Beverly Hills; Fl. Beverly Hills is located in Citrus County along the nature coast. I live 20 minutes from the nature coast in the midst hundreds of birds and an array of natural springs and Manatees. I love to photograph birds. I have beening doing it for a number of years. I have some photo that have made Bird Watching Magazine and prior to that Birders Magazine. I have photo posted at many places. My Web site is http://rstrick2.zenfolio.com/
I also place photos on FLickr, that is http://www.flickr.com/photos/rstrickland/
I also created a Forum for a group we had here in Citrus county, you are welcome to post of it. http://citruscountynature.proboards.com/index.cgi
My concentration is my backyard, i setup a feeding / watering system in my backyard just outside my shed. I use the shed for a blind and get good results. In Fact one of my Backyard birds won the 2008 NWF photo contest. http://www.nwf.org/News-and-Magazine...t-Winners.aspx of my Cardinal in my Bird bath.
This link is where i got a cover photo and how it happened. http://cs.birdwatchingdaily.com/brdc...our-cover.aspx
I would be very interested in more information about the Avian Reconditioning Center in Apopka, I would love to go over there. We go to Apoopka to pick up plants as we have a small plant business.
Thanks for the welcome i hope to get more photos posted soon.
Robert

Big welcome to BPN, Robert! Looking forward to your participation!
Hi Robert:
Well thanks for all the info. Now, I realize why I recognize your name. I remember your hawk cover very well, as well as your NWF Cardinal win. Congratulations on both of those accomplishments. I enjoyed reading the story of how your hawk got on the cover. Interesting how when you think a shoot may turn into a bust, it can turn into a gold mine just as quickly.
Looking very forward to seeing your images posted here and hope we can photograph together at some point in the future. I have send you a PM with the info on the Avian Reconditioning Center.
Hi Bob! Good to see you here!
Welcome to BPN Robert!! I remember that cover photo of the hawk too. Keep up the good work, and see you online!
