    Default Lady Anhinga

My first post! I photographed this beautiful girl on Artie's IPT last week, at Venice
Rookery. It was about 4 in the afternoon, and she was fairly cooperative.
Details: 1D Mark 4, ISO 320, 800 mm lens at f5.6, at 1/1250 sec. Critique is appreciated! --Tim

    Tim:

A big welcome to BPN!! About time!

Sharp, well exposed, beautiful bird. I like the basic composition but would try a version with about 1/3 of the free space cropped off the top.

Background in general is very nice. Some might wish for all green, vs. the silver portion.

    Looking forward to more!

    Cheers

    Randy

No fair! Randy beat me to your first post! A big welcome Tim and I am looking forward to many more images. Lovely light and pose. I like the water-it looks like an impressionist painting. Good HA. I am going to suggest the complete opposite of Randy and would suggest cropping the bottom to the base of the neck ( you might have to clone out very tip of wing knob). I find the black on the back draws the eye down.

    Hi Tim,
Good to see you here. Beautiful bird with the blue around the eye. Agree with Gail on the bottom part as the wing is out of focus. I might go for a crop from the top and bottom, focussing on the curve in the neck and the head alone.

Beautiful bird :). Sharp with a good exposure. I'd go for a bit off both the top and the bottom and a bit more d-o-f to cover the near-wing. Thanks again for your great help on the IPT. Opps--almost forgot, you are a teeny bit short on head angle.

Welcome to BPN Tim! The bird is sharp and nicely exposed. I like the idea of cropping a bit off both the top and bottom.
