Grey Headed flying fox. Took the time to try some in flight photography, all be it non bird. Rather than just blue sky I wanted to show the flying fox flying towards the tree to roost.

    1MK4, 500mm HH, 1/2000 @ 4.5, ISO 800. Manual mode.

    Thanks, Tom.

Tom - the flying fox is great. Although I understand why you included the tree, IMHO the tree overpowers the image a bit. Maybe crop a fair amount of the tree from the rhs so it is not an equal element with the bat. There's also a dust bunny or clone mark in the upper right, just above the tree.

You exposed the Flying Fox well, Tom, particularly under the wings. I don't mind the amount of tree you included here. Obviously a better viewing angle towards the fox would've been ideal, but I can imagine it tough to obtain...

I would agree with Morkel's assessment.

Hi Tom, I like the image and comp. Nice, subtle detail in the outstretched wings and the foliage adds a nice touch. Is this FF, or cropped?

Hi Steve - appended is the full frame with no adjustments other than conversion from raw.
