Very pretty, like your processing, nice sky great blue with hint of cloud, good light on rock and lion especially considering bright sun, good shadow detail. Nicely done all-around.

Soon as I saw the thumbnail, I thought Tanzania and it's famous kopjes.
Love the framing here VP, you missed a large dust bunny upper RHC.

    Ditto on the dust bunny.
Nice scene here VPN. I like the detail you captured despite the harsh light.
I wish there was some light in her eyes, but given her head position and the height of the sun - no chance...
How about playing with saturation a bit to add more pop to the sky (without overcooking it to look unnatural)?

Pity about the lighting but I do like the setting and the rock. I love how the tail drops over the side.

Very classic scene. Too bad about the harsh light but the tail position and the pose are great. I might consider a crop from the top eliminating about half the blue sky as an alternative.

    VPN,

Is it not always the way that when you get a fabulous pose, the light is not with you.

    Nevertheless this is quite magnificent

Hi VPN, adjusting the red/magenta, yellow & white, plus the RHS of Levels will take this to the next level, the light will then look better too, but you will still have the shadows sadly.

Hmm, so I'm the only one here who rather likes the lighting? Maybe I'm just an old-fashioned sunny day type of guy??
I took it into PS and did a bit what Steve and Morkel suggested for levels and saturation. Came up with this which I like even more
Reminds me perhaps of Kodachrome with a polarizer. How soon we forget

    WOW Tom.

OK, looking on the MB pro so cannot comment overall on colour, but first impression is, I like it, but the proof will be, does VPN? Personally I am pleased to see that the suggestions both Morkel & I made was implemented away from what we saw and just on the advice. The sky does look a little 'cyan', however it's going in the right direction IMHO.

    cheers

    "PS - Velvia for me"
Well, did not mention it but ran a PS action that is supposed to mimic Velvia!!! It is very flexible as to "how much" Velvia you want .
And agree the sky may be a little cyan. And perhaps the wispy clouds made a bit more white?
Also might think that a real chrome image would block up the shadows more???

Nice job on the repost here Tom!

I know a relatively easy way to mimic Velvia using Lab Colour...I think there's a sticky somewhere here on BPN about it...
