Default One more' Owl in flowers' shot

Burrowing Owl, SE Dallas County. 40D. 400 f5.6L. iso 400. f/6.3. 1/200s. evaluative + 1 2/3. I was in Av mode as clouds were passing over and conditions were changing fast.

same time as the other shot . composed a little differently because of the different HA. Note that the pupil is more dilated in the eye that is in shade. Amazing eyes, indeed.

    All comments welcome.

Yet another beauty, KD. I think I like the comp on this one best - a little more bird, less habitat maybe. Gorgeous light. Amazing how the little change in light could cause such a big difference in dilation.

A lovely shot. I like the hint of color in the BG, the curly grass blade on the owl's left, & those eyes are marvelous. The entire series has been very enjoyable. TFS.

Beautiful soft light. Sharp. Killer o-o-f flowers; please send some of the seeds to Cape Coral, FL :). Love the grey BKGR and of course the curly blade of grass. As good as this is, and it is very, very good, I am pretty sure that I would have preferred it--all things being equal of course--with the camera pointed more to our left leaving the bird on the right side of the frame; as presented, the bird is too close to the middle. Another plus would be a more 2/3 to 1/3 grey to foreground ratio.....

Great and beautiful image Kaustubh. Love the soft bkgd and the green and pink colors. I would love to see a little more space below and less on the top, and a fraction cropped of the right side, but still keeping the oof pink flower in the middle of the frame on the edge.

Love the inclusion of the vegetation Kaustubh! You know I like tighter crops so a bit off the left and top would be my choice......but all in all, very nicely done!

Lovely, lovely image in habitat. The quality of the light, soft colors, sharpness, and that differential in pupil dilation is exquisite. Vegetation rocks. Excellent work, Kaustubh!

What a sweet setting. I really like the one curled blade of grass near the tail and the beautiful mix of greens and pink. Love it.

HI Kaustubh, your owl series just keeps getting better. I love the eyes and the feather detail and of coure the way he is directly looking at you. Looks like you have befriended some owls in your area :-). wish we had some here.
