Sharp and nice exposure on the whites.
The BG is a bit too bright for me.

Interesting gap between the mandibles! Love the 'do and the breeding colours. Some fill would have been super, and I do wish you had pointed your lens a bit more to the right. I personally like the BG!

I also like the bg and really like the nice colors of the bird. I think a bit of pp'n to brighten up the face area a bit in place of the fill would be nice. Very nice composition.

Thanks Daniel and Dave. I took your advice and brought up the bird some. that was tough pp because of the head feathers but I think this is better. WDYT?

Beautiful image. Superb detail, I really like the background, and the repost looks much better.
    Well done.

Hi Cheryl, tack sharp, and just love the detail around the eye. Just enough neck shown to create the perfect portrait comp. The BG colours rock, as does your repost.

Repost is good. BG is excellent in both posts. I'd add just a little more on the top - its just a little too close for my taste.

Repost looks very good. Agree on a tad more space on top but not a deal breaker. Good use of flash. You have nice details in the feathers and that BG rocks.

Really nice feather detail. I like the repost with the brighter whites, which looked somewhat gray in the OP. I would have preferred a slightly better head angle.

Repost looks great, since you added canvas on top, I would add more to the right also.
