    Canon 7D Canon 500mm F4 L IS &1.4TC1 ISO 400 +0.67 1/400 sec f 5.6
    I did quite a bit of work balancing the darks and lights, I think this is about optimal.

    Hi Jon, your comp works well, and a typical pose from the chat. You certainly have balanced the light and shadows evenly, but still wish there was a little more light on the near side of the head. Sharpness looks spot on too. Was this out in the country, as the BG doesnt look like your set up.

    Stu, this was out on the marshes, I was waiting for short eared owls and I spotted this little chap flying from one perch to another.

    I am not sure about this one Jon, most of the bird is in the shade and looks flat.

    I like the brown tones and the perch however I find myself dissapointed that the face is too dark in the shadow..
