    Hi Folks,
Here is another image of one of my little buddies from Boundary Bay near Vancouver B.C. This is the same owl as in the previous posted flight shot. He came in and casually landed within about 100 feet or so and was one of the cleaner owls that I photographed that day.

    Stats:1D Mark4, 500mm with 1.4X, 1/2000 at F/7.1, ISO 640

    Thanks for looking,

    Steve

Good techs, details, vertical comp. Great view of the speckled pattern on the plumage. Not crazy about the sawed off end of the perch, and I would try a version with the eyes level (CCW rotation).

Stunning detail in this one. I too am distracted by the cut off log.

    Hi Frank,
Thanks for your comment. This is a case where he flew to me. I don't know if he was curious or just trying to escape other photographers further away but it was just luck that I happened to be in the right position.

    Take care and good light,

    Steve

Lucky you to get him so close. I like the bg yet wish for a natural perch.

great pose and details, I'd put more space in the bottom to include the full perch.
