Michael, you are right on with the bg critique. I thought if I tried to clean it up, it would just make it worse. The repost includes a rough attempt with a reduced opacity clone stamp. Any alternative approaches would be welcomed.
Nice detail and control of whites my only comment is on the reflection. The virtual feet were not included which is alright in this case but the partial reflection could be evicted. I tend to like clean edges on portraits like this. Take a piece of paper and do a before and after on the screen. Remember foreground elements will catch the eye. You set the exposure well to handle the whites nice field technique. Controlling the frame is all about composition and exposure. Well done thanks for sharing.
