    This is another/different view of one of the Eared Grebes I watched earlier this week. They swim away as soon as they hear you (ever so quietly) approach so again, it's a crop.

    Canon 40D; Manual Exposure, 1/2000s, f8, 640 ISO and 400m (Canon 100-400)

    Hi Kattie Your doing good with the Grebes !!!

    Getting some great head angles and light on the bird For this one would actually crop less? Particularly from bottom I like the exposure Lots of detail in the dark feathers A couple around the eye are close to going over but looking good Looks like you got the hang of exposing manually !!!! Big Congrats !!!

    Real nice. I might go for little looser comp with a bit more space at the bottom, but that depends on how much of the reflection you have and how it looks on the water.
