William, I love the effect from the filtering. I'd like to see a little more detail in the white feathers on top of the head (it's hard to tell what's water drops and what is feathers) and a little more detail and saturation in the eye. But, I love the image the way it is. ( I wish we'd get some rain - the drought is really bad here. )

Hi Bill; I love the colored-pencil sketch like quality of your processing...and the unique pose of the capture sends this image over the top. I agree with earlier comments about perhaps bringing back just a tad more detail in the white feathers, but that's a relatively minor point in what is a very strong image. Nicely done!

Awesome! Nice to see you posting again, your creative images have been missed I like the sketched look combined with the details. Nice pose, comp and filtering. My only thought is that it is a tiny bit tight on top.

Thanks alot for the comments! Cheryl; the water splashing did effect the head detail, and the nictating membrane covered the eye ( I guess to protect it from the water). I could reprocess, with those in mind, as well as enyhancing detail overall.

ISO 3200!? Maybe I need a new camera!! Love the rakish expression and the excellent post processing! Very nice. Wish there were a bit more detail in the head. I like the colored sketch look, and am inspired to try something similar.
