Here a real naughty critter that I'd always wanted to photograph
I came across abreeding pair with a youngster, and although they came very close indeed at times , I could never get a clear shot of the male
I thought you might like to see him, though I do have one or two better ones. The black/white color stripes make this very hard to get; plus they inhabit the darker margins of the forest.

I extensively knocked out a lot of terrible "white" branches from the BG using a mix of blur, burn, patch tool and clone stamp

    The techs are Canon 7D 100-400 1/60 ISO 800, Ev +.66 HH @ 400 Av mode

hope you enjoy viewing this striking birdie

Wow indeed! Great to be able to capture such a secretive little bird, in difficult surroundings. I might consider toning down the left side of his perch even further, and there is some evidence of your layer masking, especially around the tail (fixable with the blur tool around the edges, perhaps). Still, a terrific record shot of this species. Congrats.

A new bird for me TFS. I am all too familiar with the terrible white branches.

Wow!! Mean looking little guy. I really like it's feather pattern and great pose.
    Well done.
