What Canon Body?

I have been asked by a good friend ( a professional guide) of mine to give recommendations for an upgrade to his old and slightly battered 20D.

I am not at all familiar with the seemingly hundreds of new bodies that have been introduced and would appreciate some ideas.

The camera will be used mainly for Wildlife and this year for a trip to see gorillas.

He is interested in a 5D perhaps the new one, but I do not think full frame is must.

I have recommended he looks at a new 70-200mm.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatfully received.

Assuming the 1D IV is out of the budget then I think either the 7D or 5D II would be good options. The 7D will give more pixels on far small objects like birds and will have a better focusing system for fast moving things. The 5D II will do much better in low light situations like a jungle and is great for landscapes. I own both and thing they are both great.
