    Default Short eared owl

    Canon 7D Canon 500mm f4 L IS & 1.4TC 1tripod, ISO 1000 +0.33 1/1600 sec f5.6.
As soon as I got there the cloud and mist descended, I bumped up the ISO and over exposed to minimise noise. NR applied to background.

This is a tough shot to get, nice BG and wing position but the IQ is lacking.

Agreed - I'm working on it a little light and a little nearer

I like the head on view and wing position. Hope you get the ideal conditions soon. Enjoying your series Jonathon!

Ah, the 7D and her beautiful noise! Still an interesting photo even with the diminished IQ. I love the bird, and am also enjoying your series and am most envious...we don't have too may short-eared owls around here...

What a great shot, love the composition Jonathan. Like the diagonal line of wings, nice eye contact. Agree about IQ.
