Beautiful picture, very good sharpness, and cut with a good eye contact.

Lovely pose, perch, and composition. Excellent detail, too.

Love the bird and the pose - I would tone down the perch a tad. Costa Rica looks like it has some great species of birds.

Fantastic image! - love the L-shaped composition and perch details. I also think the bird a little higher in the frame would improve the image. I sensed a bit of a greenish color cast in the bird and perch, so I brought it into PS and did a quick pass at removing it (made a selection around the bird, did an average blur on the selection and used this as a gray point for a curves adjustment which I painted into the bird and perch). IMO it brings out the bill and red in the face a bit more.

Fantastic bird, perch, bg and pose, Jim.
You've given him enough room up top, just in case he decides to sit up straight, which I liked :)
But I do like what Robert did with the repost as well.

Jim, lovely shot, I'm jealous. We had two come in when we were in Ecuador but no opportunity to get a shot like this. I kinda like the original crop as in the repost it looks to me as the bird is ducking down because of the smaller space on top.
